1. What unique qualities distinguish you from the other candidates currently running or who are now serving on the Governing Board? What makes you different than the others?
If elected, I will bring a unique set of qualification to the Madison Governing Board.
First, fiscal responsibility. I will be a consistent voice of fiscal responsibility on the board. I will ensure that every dollar spent is going to the classroom with the goal of improving student achievement.
Second, community outreach experience. My background in community development gives me the knowledge and the skills needed to cultivate working relationships with the community leaders, parents, businesses and others invested in the district.
Third, volunteer management. The Madison District is quite fortunate to have many dedicated volunteers. Arizona’s state budget may be facing additional cuts that may affect education, we must be prepared to task our volunteers with leadership roles in the district to assist in areas such as drug/crime prevention education and classroom support.
Fourth, dedication to excellence in public education. I believe that public education is one of the most important issues facing our community. I have dedicated myself to the goal of excellence in Madison, and to understand the challenges facing the district. I have the drive, education, dedication and ideas to ensure Madison is the leader in 21st century learning.
