1.  What unique qualities distinguish you from the other candidates currently running or who are now serving on the Governing Board? What makes you different than the others?

I have been deeply involved in and dedicated to the Madison district for the last 4 years as a Board member – interacting with the kids, talking to parents, listening to the teachers, and working with the administration at every school in Madison. I know the schools and I know the people. There is a very high learning curve in serving on a school board, and I have gained a great deal of gained knowledge of how Madison, its administration, communities, and schools function, and what they need from the Board and its individual members. I have also learned what good boardmanship is, and how important that characteristic is in having a functioning and balanced Board which is an asset to the District. I am a good listener, focusing on truly understanding what I am listening to. I am respectful of the opinions of others and believe that working collaboratively with the good people around me better serves Madison and its kids. I also have a good grasp of how the budget works, and how it affects, and is affected by, numerous other issues.

I have a good sense of humor, and I am not afraid to use it in the appropriate circumstance. I am a kid at heart and that serves me well as I serve on the Board. I have been, and will continue to be, a good, solid, thoughtful Board member. I am very proud of that.
